My fiance and I have been together now for four years, we met in college. He was a transfer student and he's been living in america ever since then. Working in america, etc. I'm going to Russia in September to meet his parents for the first time! His mother speaks english, but his father does not. I been studying Russian now for a year, but just wondering if there any etiquette I should know about since every country has there own cultural etiquette that's different around the world? Oh yeah-- Don't get me wrong, I been asking my fiance night and day on how I should act, what too say, and not too say. Reading blogs, various other interweb info, found this website so I thought other way to cover my tracks. Just so nervous!

Wouldn't your fiance be the best source of that info? Sounds like you are a thoughtful person. Just be you kind, thoughtful self.

Don't worry too much. Russia is a european country ( although not eec ) and the culture is very much the same as many european countries. Just a couple of tips. Wear slippers when you enter your boyfriends parents apartment, and do not buy flowers for them in an even number.

I don't think that you need know something new. We're the same at this way. Just act like you act in real life with your parents. Its not China or India with their cultural differences.
