I'm thinking either St. Petersburg or Moscow, because those are the most heard of...but I want to live in a city that's rich in Russian culture =) So what city would you recccomend?? =D so to answer what's his name's question.....Perhaps I'm not asking this in the Russian forum because I don't know Russian quite yet. In about four years, though ((when I plan on living there)) i will probably know the language. That's not to say I don't have respect for Russians. Just calm down...and take a deeeep breath...

Do you now if you can meet the requirements for a work/residence visa in Russia? That should be your main concern. Choosing where to live is waaaay down the line. Getting a visa to live in Russia may not be possible, and if it is , it will be very difficult. see site below and contact the nearest Russian consulate with your questions about a visa.

Why you are asking this in English language on English language forum?? Do you have no respect enough for Russians to SPEAK RUSSIAN? If you want good answers, ask this question to RUSSIAN people in RUSSIAN language forum! Also, why you want to live in Russia? Are you Russian? Russia is not free-for-all multicultural circus like the West. Are you Russian? I recommend Tashtagol in south of Kemerovo Oblast. It's very nice town.

Out of the two, Saint Petersburg - the richest one in Russian culture. But it will be very difficult to get a visa for living, if possible at all. Start with a short visit or come to study, this is much easier.

Where are you from? I suggest Moscow.

Really a very simple question. First, even starting now you won't be proficient in Russian, so you will need to stay in an urban area to work (yes, that means a work visa. hard to get so make sure you have a skill set that is needed), being young, I'd say St. Petersburg. Lots of artists, musicians and nightlife. Nothing against Moscow, but you'd get lost quickly. So decide on a profession that can be translated into a career that is needed in Russia, learn Russian, and enjoy. In the mean time, I'd suggest regular trips to the country so you can meet people and start a social network.

I suggest Moscow. It's where old meets new. There's no place like it.
