Many wives is illegal in the US. It's called polygamy and is against all state laws. Mormons are just another sect of Christianity with their own special differences.

Yeah they are little grayish creatures that run around the deserts of Utah and Arizona at night looking for the golden tablets that were left there by an overlord race of mutants 10 million years ago. I believe they have not found the tablets yet.

The mormon church, started by Joseph Smith, believes that God was once a man like we are, but because he obeyed the mormon teaching, he evolved and became a god. Furthermore, we can all become gods if we obey the mormon teaching. That's only the beginning of the nonsense. It's so rediculous, it's not even funny, but here is a website with an animated depiction of the mormon religion, how it got started, and what they believe.

Mormonism isn't a part of Christianity. It's a completely different religion with a different set of beliefs. Basically, Hell is only for the really bad and anyone can become a god.

If you see one: run the other way. Don't look back. Don't stop running. They will catch you. Sorry.

I don't think they have more than one wife now, at least not in the USA. They have books other than the Bible that they apparently treat equally to the Bible or maybe even greater than the Bible. They have what they call "Doctrines and Covenants." They also have Joseph Smith's "inspired" version of the Bible (as if the original was not inspired), which actually changes the Bible. They also believe Jesus, the Devil, and all of us were originally spirit children of the "Heavenly Father." They think if they are good Mormons, they can eventually be like God is now.

I believe some believe this. But one problem is that they also use the Book of Mormon. They believe Joseph Smith was also anointed. The Bible warns against this. E mail me if you like for more information.

An angel (satan) appeared to Joseph Smith (he was a soccerer) and told him about this new religion. It is not biblical at all. The teaching is that only mormons go to the highest heaven and they are the true church. The Bride of Christ is the true church (His believers). They have alot of teachings that do not line up with the Bible. satan is behind it all and is trying to deceive many people and take them to hell, they do not teach about becoming born-again, even though I do have a friend that use to be a mormon that is born again. They are such sweet people and loved by God, but they are listening to a false teaching.

they give 10% of their monthly profits to their church. they use to have many kids thanks to leaders advice, in order to have more followers and more money that is why they have the most luxurious temples. they never take coffee, nor alcohol nor smoking they wear a long funny pants as underwear all the time, like medieval underwear,

We are not allowed to have more than one wife or husband at a time. I hope the link helps explain some of our beliefs. It is in Russian. http://www.lds.org/languages/mainmenu/0,5362,88-21,00.html

We Mormons dont have many husbands (not wives the men) and we believe in modern revelation, we have a prophet and twelve apostles just as Jesus organized His church. We believe in God The Father, Jesus The Son, and The Holy Ghost as three different persons separated one from the other, we don't have a paid clergy and our authorities in the church are selected by inspiration.

I lived in Utah for a 5 years...and though I'm not Mormon, I must have met 200 or so... They're very good hearted people. The Mormon kids that I went to school with didnt use profanity, and dressed cute BUT conservatively. I guess some of them don't believe in drinking caffiene....Most of them AREN'T polygamists. I NEVER met a polygamist while I was there. A lot of Mormons have many children. I like Mormons.

It is a religion that demeans women. Women can't get to heaven unless the husband calls her name out of the grave...he can choose to not call her. Women have to be married to go to heaven. Thus the early days of polygamy...unmarried women would have to have a husband according to their faith. Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers in the mormon religion. Oh..the man is eventually with good behavior...going to a god..and his wife a goddess..and they will have a planet together and fill it with their children who will seek also to be gods and goddesses. The Virgin Mary to them..was a virgin until Father God came down and had sex with her...thus conceiving Jesus. They don't believe in the ever virginity of Mary. Women are to be perfect little wives...so they will gain favor with their God/husbands..and attain heaven. This religion is so wrong for women...to me it is amazing that any woman would choose it.

Other than the answers provided by active Mormons on this site, your best approach is to log on to www.mormon.org and browse around in it. Or, you can log on to www.lds.org, which is the official website for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Go to the source with your questions; you'll receive the right answers if you do.

Mormons are a cult who believe in very strange things that I am sure you would never have heard of unless you studied them or were part of there religion. They believe Jesus and Satan were brothers. Also they consider there prophet Joseph Smith who started this religion to be greater then Jesus. Mormon Jesus is not like the Jesus you worship because the Jesus we worship is the only begotten Son of God.

If you are truly curious and want answers go to: http://lds.org If you want to bash them, then I guess this is the place.

Beware of those who condemn the LDS too strongly. Their beliefs are no more odd than anyone else who believes that Jesus was born of a virgin, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. Joseph Smith was basically a horny, lonely adolescent, who came up with this translation of his golden tablets, much like Mohammed and the Koran. *** If you want truth about what LDS beliefs are, the link below is the best place to go.

Mormons do not practice polygamy. Even in cultures where polygamy is acceptable (some Muslim countries, for example), Mormons NEVER have more than one wife. Any member found to have more than one wife is excommunicated. Those that practice polygamy in Utah and Arizona are not Mormons. They belong to separate religions (usually FLDS). The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion. Because Mormons believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ and consider Him to be the way to salvation, they are clearly a Christian denomination. It is true that they are not an orthodox denomination (they are neither Protestant, Catholic, nor Eastern Orthodox), because they don't accept the post-New Testament creeds, but their Christ-centered theology clearly qualifies them for the Christian label. Most objective scholars agree that Mormons are Christian. Consider this quote from an academic book entitled “Anthology of World Scriptures†by Robert E. Van Voorst. “…the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints…see themselves as Christian, and most experts in comparative religions would view this labeling as basically correct. That they…accept the Christian Bible as their first cannon is a good indicator of this. Moreover, “outsiders†to [Christianity], such as Buddhists, would almost certainly recognize them as belonging to the stream of Christian tradition.†Likewise, a recent poll showed that the majority of Americans believe that Mormons are Christians. You should be extremely careful when trying to learn about Mormons from others. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed. Because Mormons are Christian, we believe in most of the things that Christians believe, including: 1) Christ is divine and salvation comes only through Him. 2) The Bible is the word of God. 3) Men ought to love one another. Mormons are a unique branch of Christianity, however. We are neither Catholic nor Protestant, so naturally we have some different beliefs. Most of the differences are minor. One significant difference has to do with the authority to act in God's name. Mormons believe that soon after the death of Christ and His apostles, the early Christian Church was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman philosophies and political pressures. Despite the efforts of many good men and women, the true Church of Christ was eventually lost because of these outside pressures and internal, man-made changes. Mormons believe that God reestablished the original Church of Christ in 1820 through a man named Joseph Smith. To learn more about Mormons, visit my site at allaboutmormons . com ! Hope this helps! Mormons can only have one wife at a time. If one dies, they can get remarried. If they get a divorce they can get married to someone else, but Mormons can't be polygamists.
