Why do so many Jews still live in Ukraine and Russia

Why do so many Jews still live in Ukraine and Russia?
I was in Kiev recently, and was surprised to find that there were a lot of Jews living there, and also elsewhere in Ukraine. The same is true in Russia. Why is this? I thought that all the Jews had fled to Israel after the fall of communism. Why are they still in Ukraine or Russia, rather than Israel?

"Jews" = Those of the House of Judah or those who embrace Judaism Israelites = Those of the House of Israel, the largest of the 10 tribes that are scattered amongst the Christian nations The two Houses will remain split until the coming of Chist and they are put back together. That is prophetic and has not yet happened.

Many left. But it's very difficult to pick up and leave everything you've ever known and move to a new country where you don't have a job and they speak a new language and your friends and family are far away.

Not all but a few do not want to enlist to Israel Army so they do not move there. Also it is a safe enough place to live and there is not a suicide bombers in Ukraine or Russia instead of Israel

Many Jews did leave It is hard to leave a country financially. A way of life and social obligations and political obligations also have a hold
