Cities more than small towns; some states MUCH cheaper than large ones. Try an online grocery ad for a feeling: www.kroger.com

A great way to find out the typical cost of groceries is to check on the webiste of grocery delivery places, like peapod http://www.peapod.com/site_frameset.jhtml?NUM1=1183654080806 They deliver just about anything so you can check the prices for whaever you specifically want- Giant Grocery store is a bit pricier than some, you should expect actual prices to be just a bit less.

I know a loaf of store brand white bread is $1.99, but sometimes I can get the two-for-one. Milk is expensive, about $4.29 for the store brand. A 10 pound bag of russet potatoes is about $3.99. Can't speak for the strawberry. Try www.safeway.com, that's where we usually shop. (California)
