Euro Russia, since most of asia Russia is an empty expanse. Also many asian people live in Russia, eastern Russia did not have any white slavic people lived their until the soviet union sent a bunch to populate the eastern side.

European Russia. The population tends to cluster around cities and because Siberia isn't the most hospitable climate, those tend to be in western Russia. For example, in a population of about 142 million, nearly 10 million live in Moscow (and another 2-3 million more commute into Moscow daily). Moscow in particular grew a lot and kept growing because under the communists it always seemed to do better than the rest of the country.
