haha...yes...Kiev, m'darling, is the capital of Ukraine. But that little geographical sidenote aside, it is very difficult to do over the internet. Although there are paid databases and such, I would travel over there if you have any idea as to the name, occupation, and address.

Kiev or Kyiv is in Ukraine NOT Russia.

Kiev isn't in Russia. It's the capital of the Ukraine. The Ukraine hasn't been part of "Russia", since the breakup of the Soviet Union. Try 411.com or the White pages phone book. (online, that is, of course)

Yeah, Kiev is Ukraine, not Russia - it is totally independent country. Someone suggested to try Facebook here, but people from out there almost never use Facebook, although, "Odnoklassniki" (classmates)could work, this is a very popular website in post-soviet couturiers. But "Odnoklassniki" is russian website, so you have to be able to search and type on russian.
